Update for Tuesday 28th April

Hi all,

Hope everyone is keeping well.

After much discussion with Kath & Peter we have decided to open Gleniti to members only -  no green fee players welcome.

There are a number of guidelines that need to be followed please:

  • As per government and NZ Golf you can only play with the people in your bubble - you cannot arrange to meet someone at the course to play with
  • You will have to book a tee time through the Gleniti website or through Dotgolf  (the app where you check your handicap has a tee booking facility) There will be no walk ups please. This system will be used so we can trace everybody who has played and keep this without paper and pen so no contact
  • The system is pre-loaded in 10 minute intervals and everyone must start on #1 - there will be no parking around the course and starting from anywhere else
  • If you cant access either of these systems please contact Glenda Frew 0212851498 or RP 0211371561 and they can book you a tee time
  • No practice on course - and practice green and area around #9 is NOT to be used to practice either and please do not play more than 1 ball while on the course
  • The stipulation from Govt and NZ Golf is you need to walk straight to #1 and play golf then go to car and go home. No gathering ANYWHERE
  • There will be no cards to score on as no scores will be accepted by Dotgolf during Level 3
  • There will be no rakes or flagsticks on course and all holes will be in the center of the greens. The cups will be upside down to prevent your ball going down in the hole. And a good idea I think is that if your ball gets  close to hole just pick it up and walk away. To prevent you having to touch the hole area
  • The clubhouse and toilet facilities will be CLOSED including the portaloo
  • Motorized Golf Carts are NOT be used. Firstly so that the pace of play can be maintained if everyone is walking. And secondly to remove a common touch area eg the door. If you have gear on your motorized golf cart please sanitize the door area you will touch before and after use.
  • All gear stored in beside pro shop and back of mens change area can not go back in there after play. So if you are not going to play under Level 3 and have gear stored in there then it can stay . But if you take your gear out to play then we ask you to take it home please and this will be reviewed at each level change. This is to minimize touch areas. Please sanitize door touch area before and after use. Please bring your own sanitizer and cloths to clean your touch areas
  • Pro shop will remain Closed

Please respect and follow these guidelines and decisions.  We have followed the 20 guidelines recommended by the Govt and NZ Golf to open the course, however if these cannot be followed correctly we will not hesitate in closing the course.

Please do not compare our decisions to other clubs' choices

Stay Safe

Kindest Regards
